Essay

It had been a long day, and all I wanted to do was go home and relax. But as I walked through the door, I could hear a familiar voice calling out from the living room. “Mommy!”

I smiled to myself as I walked into the room and saw my daughter, Lily, playing on the floor. She was only five years old, but she was already so independent. She was always eager to try new things and explore the world around her.

I knelt down next to her and asked her what she was doing. “I’m playing with my dolls,” she said. She showed me the different dolls she had arranged around the room and explained how they were playing together.

As I looked at her, I was filled with a sense of pride and love. I was so proud of her for being so brave and independent, and I was so grateful for the privilege of being her parent. I knew that taking care of a child was a huge responsibility, but I also knew that it was a responsibility that I would not take lightly.

I decided to sit down and join her in her game. We talked about her dolls and the stories she was creating about them. We laughed and joked and had a great time. I watched as she used her imagination to bring her stories to life, and I was amazed at how quickly she was able to learn and grow.

After a while, I noticed that it was getting late and it was time for her to go to bed. I hugged her tightly and kissed her forehead, and she smiled back at me with love in her eyes. I tucked her in and said goodnight, and then I went off to my own room, feeling so blessed to have such a wonderful daughter in my life.
