Should a business use the same marketing mix to sell its products to different age groups?
The marketing mix consists of price, product, promotion and place.
Advantage of using the same marketing mix :
• Using the same marketing mix is cheaper. Reducing marketing costs helps to keep prices low
Disadvantage of using the same marketing mix:
• A business may want to advertise in different locations using different media in order to attract different target audiences
To conclude, it is unlikely that the price, promotion, place and product will be exactly the same. The business may have to change the marketing mix otherwise they would risk missing out on sales. Targeting different market segments may be a better option.
