Setting: The story is set in a small coastal town in Maine, in the present day. The town has a rustic charm with its rugged cliffs, lighthouses, and the ever-changing Atlantic Ocean.

Main character: The main character is John, a 35-year-old lighthouse keeper. He is diligent, introspective, and is driven by a strong sense of duty. He loves the sea but is haunted by a tragic event from his past.

Conflict: John faces the internal conflict of overcoming his fear of the sea which he developed after witnessing a shipwreck years ago. He must now face this fear as a storm approaches and a ship is in danger.

Dialogue: Dialogue should be used sparingly but effectively to reveal John's internal struggle and his interactions with other town folks. The dialogue should also reflect the unique dialect and speech patterns of a coastal Maine town.

Theme: The central theme is facing one's fears and overcoming personal traumas. This theme will unfold as John grapples with his past and takes the courageous step to overcome his fear.

Tone: The tone should be intense and suspenseful, reflecting the sense of impending danger and John's internal turmoil.

Pacing: The story should start slowly, building up the tension as the storm approaches. The pace should pick up rapidly as the storm hits and John decides to take action.

Plotline: The story starts with a calm morning that soon changes as a storm approaches. As the storm hits, John learns of a ship that's lost in the storm. Despite his fear, John decides to guide the ship, leading to a tense climax. The story ends with John overcoming his fear and the sense of relief and triumph that follows.
