Stephen Hawking was a renowned theoretical physicist and cosmologist who made significant contributions to the theory of general relativity and the understanding of black holes. Despite being diagnosed with a rare form of motor neurone disease at the age of 21, he continued his scientific work with an unwavering dedication that was truly inspirational. His achievements are manifold, including his book "A Brief History of Time" which remained on the bestseller list for an astonishing 237 weeks and has been translated into more than 40 languages. But what makes Professor Hawking so admirable is not just his scientific achievements, but also his unyielding spirit, determination, and sense of humor. Despite being given a life expectancy of just two years in his early twenties, he lived to the age of 76. He once said, "However difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at." This quote encapsulates his outlook on life, which is a powerful reminder for us to be curious, to dream big, and to never let our circumstances limit our potential.
